Dec 29 Journal

Today I was off to a pretty okay start, but lost it in the early evening because we had friends over for dinner. You'll see...

Breakfast - oatmeal
Snack - SB grande mocha with whip (this was preplanned!), carrot and melon samples from store (I avoided the whole cookie samples!), fibershake with milk.
Lunch - small tortilla wrap with turkey, two thin slices salami, one piece cheese, lowfat sour cream, lettuce, half apple with 1 T. peanut butter, 1 bite of nut log cookie
Snack - 8 peanut M&M's (yes, I counted) with about 20 tiny pretzel twists
Dinner - okay, here it is: Appetizer - two servings blue tortilla chips with both spinach artichoke dip and beef nacho dip. Dinner - large piece chicken breast, six small roasted potato wedges, ketchup (it was out for the kids but I could not resist), steamed yellow squash, half piece garlic bread. After dinner - lowfat egg nog with Baileys, small piece kringle, 1 bite of seven layer bar (it was crumbs from the bag, actually! There is still half of one bar left!)

Workout - I had the day off

Water - 8 out of 10!!

Negatives - too many chips (and dip) and too big a portion on my chicken.

Positives - I did a great job on the water. I avoided a few temptations, including a cookie at the store and that last half of a bar. I only had a half piece of bread, but that was because it was gone before I could take another piece :) Overall, I did a good job controlling carbs, and I stopped eating before 8:00 AGAIN!!

When I weighed in this morning, I already lost a pound! Awesome! I'm sure today was not great but hopefully I didn't gain at all.
