Jan 9 Journal

I’m back on the blog-agon after three days of guilt-ridden overindulgence. I go on my mini-vacation in three days and would love to lose just two more pounds (probably so I can gain them back while I’m there!)

Breakfast – Oatmeal
Snack – fibershake, 1 handful fruit loops
Lunch – 3 rectangles Donatos pizza (I wanted more), yogurt
Snack – pretzels, hummus, 5 peanut M&Ms, handful choc popcorn
Dinner – 2 small sandwiches with chicken, pita, cheese, pizza sauce, small salad, small pasta salad, dessert was ½ oreo and 1 bite brownie
Snack – 2 bowls cereal, 12 M&Ms


Workout – 30 min torturous legs + 300 calories on elliptical

Water – 9 out of 10 servings

Negatives – Late night snacking was really bad. Not enough fruits/veggies.

Positives – Water! Fibershake! Getting back on the blog!

Jan 5 Journal

Breakfast – Oatmeal
Snack – Grande mocha with whip
Lunch – Few bites chicken, 5 cheese/cracker
Snack – 15 choc chips, diet mountain dew, 3 cheese/cracker, 2 carrots, couple grapes, couple licks of batter ☺
Dinner – 1 bowl beef barley carrot soup, 2 pieces homemade wheat bread with butter, 4 crackers, spinach/lettuce salad, dessert was two or three brownies

(I feel like I ate a lot more and I can’t remember what. I didn’t keep good track today.)

Workout – day off Saturday

Water – 3 out of 10 servings

Negatives – Water – not enough! Starbucks! No fibershake! I made two batches of brownies!!

Positives – Portion control was good, I guess, although as I stated, I think I forgot things that I ate.

My big issue now is that I have a ton of brownies sitting around and it’s like my favorite food. Yikes!!

Jan 4 Journal

I didn't feel well most of the day today. Unfortunately at the end of the day I really ate ridiculously bad.

Breakfast - Small serving Honey Nut Cheerios with 1% milk
Snack - about 15 choc covered pretzels throughout day, couple slices of orange, half apple
Dinner - 6 inch chicken breast sandwich from Subway, handful fries
After dinner disaster - 20 peanut M&Ms, 5 bites candied pecans, ice cream, 2 squares chocolate, and I think there's more but I've blocked it out.

Workout - 40 minutes arms + 300 calories elliptical

Water - 6 out of 10

Negatives - I should have eaten something much more healthy when I started to regain my appetite. I took it as a time to binge since I hadn't eaten much all day, like it didn't matter.

Positives - I guess not very many calories for most of the day. I did okay on water considering. And I still worked out even though I was having stomach cramps. New day tomorrow! And I'm going to Vegas in a week so I need to lose a couple of pounds because I will be at the pool! Motivation!

Jan 3 Journal

Breakfast – Oatmeal
Snack – none
Lunch – spaghetti with 2 small meatballs
Snack –lots of pretzels (3 servings maybe?), fibershake with milk, 5 peanut M&Ms, biscotti
Dinner – meatloaf, broccoli, small serving mashed potatoes (like 2-3 bites), 1 bite of nasty brownie


Workout – 45 min shoulders and triceps + 300 calories on elliptical

Water – 5 out of 10 servings

Negatives – What a bad snack! I think I was really hungry due to eating an early breakfast and no morning snack. Carb overload with pretzels and spaghetti. Water intake needs to be more consistent. I need more fruits and vegetables.

Positives – The morning started out extremely well again. No Starbucks again. I will not be eating anything else tonight with a possible exception of a 4 oz protein shake if I’m starving. I am very sore from my workout yesterday!! I controlled my portions at dinner.

Jan 2 Journal

Back to the food journal!

Breakfast – Oatmeal
Snack – fibershake with milk, 2 bites chocolate popcorn, 2 bites goldfish
Lunch – Panera bagel with light cream cheese
Snack – lots of pretzels with hummus
Dinner – 5 choc covered pretzels (appetizer!), 2 servings spaghetti with 3 small meatballs, 1 piece light garlic bread, large serving corn, and dessert was two nasty break n bake brownies.
Snack - biscotti

Workout – 40 min legs and abs + 500 calories on elliptical

Water – 8 out of 10 servings

Negatives – I ate a lot of bad foods today. I felt very full an hour after dinner because I overate dinner. I hate eating food that tastes bad and is bad for you, and those brownies fit that bill. And for the last two nights, I have been eating later at night (my bad habit!). I guess I’m not quite out of that habit just yet – my biscotti was at 9:30.

Positives – The morning started out extremely well. I managed to control my portions of snacks pretty well. I did great on the workout and on water intake.

Jan. 1st Journal

Happy 2008!

I am not going to be divulging my food journal for today. It was just awful. Let's just say there were M&Ms, cheesecake bars, Starbucks, and multiple bowls of cereal involved. I would imagine that I have put on most of the 3+ pounds I lost in the past two days. But, they were holidays and that's what happens and I am very committed to starting on the right foot again tomorrow!

At 9:00 a.m. I will be trudging through the snow to workout!

Dec 30 Journal

Breakfast – Oatmeal with cranberries and brown sugar, small cup strawberries, half piece sausage, two bites blueberry pancakes
Snack – half piece seven layer bar (they’re gone!), small piece kringle, small iced cap
Lunch (late) – salad
Snack – ¼ cup chocolate popcorn
Dinner – five pieces Donatos pizza, three strawberries. Dessert – fibershake with milk.
Workout – 500 calories on elliptical
Water – 4 out of 10 servings

Negatives – Water intake was lame. Snacks were awful. I lost two pounds in one day yesterday eating poorly, and I think that made me less strict on myself.

Positives – Looking at this journal, and yesterdays, it looks like I ate pretty poorly. But really, this is WAY better than normal without the journal! My portions are way in check these days. I don’t eat anything after dinner, because I’ve already written the blog and I don’t want to change it.

Note – I might not blog tomorrow because I will probably take the night off from keeping track (party food). But I will still try to control portions. I don’t want the work so far to be for nothing! Happy New Year!
